Winter Wonderful Kate

Nicole Richie is my number one style icon and since she started her own clothing line, Winter Kate and her jewelry line, House of Harlow 1960 I have been in fashion heaven! I wish I could have every piece of the clothing line. She designs with a vintage/retro throwback and a fashion forward edge, but the different pieces can also be a part of your wardrobe for years to come.

This “Anais” dress is one of my absolute favorites! It’s sophisticated, classy, and a little oriental with lace pattern detail. Perfect for date night or any dressier affair.

The “Devi” dress and the “Dixie” remind me of a 70’s go-go dancer, in a good way. Both styles come in various colors and look super cute with booties or a suede over-the knee-boot. Wear your hair down for a sexy style or wear it in a low pony for a more playful look.

The Gemma jacket is perfect for all year round style and is a perfect day to night piece for the work week.

Every season she comes out with new versions of her cardigans and kimonos. My two picks are the Jasmine velvet cardi and the Jemma Kimono cardi.

Still haven’t found your New Years Eve dress? Well this gold sequin top/dress (depending on your height) is a great option!

If your going on vacation during the cold months or just want a boho chic maxi dress for Spring and Summer, get this Victoire dress. Such an easy piece to slip on and look instantly glam.

Rebel Yell

It’s a little western, a bit bohemian, and a little rough around the edges. Rebellious style is hott and there are so many ways to be a part of this trend. Try some suede boots, anything fringe, studded boots, and something ripped to show off that ruggedness.

Get ready for some good old line dancing with a pair of these Antik Batik Suede boots

Or this Frye Engineer boot

pair either one of those boots with this torn denim shirt by Bec and Bridge

This fur and suede vest by Antik Batik is perfect with jeans

Or wear it with black torn skinny jeans like these by Cheap Monday and these suede Haute Hippie fringe pants

Grab this vintage fringe wallet bag or this fringe bucket bag and you’ll be oh so fashionably rebellious!

Just wanting a little bit of this mischievous trend? Grab this Rag and Bone hat and put it on with something casual to add a little extra something to your outfit

Dress up a little bit with this long sleeve velvet blouse by Opening Ceremony

Or this flared sleeve dress by Parker

And complete the look with this tarnished silver Marc by Marc Jacobs cuff

She’s So Mauvelous!

I love some winter whites and rosey pink colors once the snow hits the Midwest. Mauve is a perfect way to keep a little color in your wardrobe during the hibernating seasons and is quite flattering on every skin and hair color. Get yourself a blouse, dress, sweater, coat or hat to try out this latest color trend!

I have a tunic top from Topshop that is very similar to this Alice + Olivia pintuck blouse and I never want to let it go. You can have this in your wardrobe as a style staple for years to come.

This one shoulder dress by Alice + Olivia is a great option for an occasion where you aren’t quite sure if it’s dressy or more on the casual side. Pair it with black booties, patent nude platforms or gladiator heels.

And if you need an easy New Year’s dress to just slip on with a pair of tights and clutch they also make this sparkly sequin fitted dress and a glimmery lighter pink option!

I am dying for this men’s style shirt by Thayer. Perfect for the weekend or any casual day with your boyfriend or girlfriends.

Thayer also makes this Grecian flowy one shoulder dress that can be cinched with a belt if desired and paired with a sparkly silver clutch for the evening.

Bundle up for a day of strolling through the snowy streets with this cozy pink trench style peacoat

or this pink rosette appliqué hat!

Going out for the night but don’t feel like rocking a dress? This sequin top will do the trick with a dark pair of denim and killer heels.

Carry all your essentials in a fabulous pink Marc by Marc Jacobs turnlock bag like this one with an adjustable strap.

Fred Boutique has so many dresses everyday for any occasion imaginable! The dress attic is ALWAYS fully stocked and new styles are moving in and out day after day. And there is a brand NEW addition to our fabulous Fred…SHOES! Straight from the shows in NYC. Stop in and get styled and become a VIP to receive discounts and invites only the most fashionable deserve.

Skirts to the Max

Usually every week I write about a trend or something in the fashion world that I love or think others should own, but this particular blog post will be dedicated to the not so attractive MAXI SKIRT! Maybe it’s because I am short and could never pull this off or the fact that it reminds me of Little House on the Prairie, these things are pretty awful. There is one exception, if you are a tall and stick thin model, then you have my permission to rock this trend. Take a look!

I love Haute Hippie, but this skirt is a bad mix of a tu-tu and a gypsy skirt all in one bad garment.

LAMB makes this long pencil skirt which is perfect for work with a shirt tucked in and a pair of heels. Make sure to keep you’re body type in mind!

These next 4 pieces are so ugly I just don’t get it. The first one is by LNA, another brand I adore but went wrong with this skirt.

This glimmery velvet skirt by MINKPINK is not how anyone should wear the velvet trend this season.

This Kimberly Ovitz velvet skirt is a better choice if the long skirt thing is your cup of tea.

And everyone knows I love bohemian flare, but this Opening Ceremony fringe skirt is cut-off in a weird place and all wrong.

Rachel Pally makes this feather/watercolor print maxi skirt that looks like the bad trends of the 70’s.

I actually do like this Rachel Roy skirt because of the sophistication that was put into it. Wear this to a ball, gala, classy holiday event, or any other special occasion.

I think that Rag and Bone took some notes from Marc Jacobs with these northern style, equestrian skirts. I like them on certain people, but mostly only when Marc has them walking the runways!

Give Em' the Boot

Every girl gets excited about one thing especially when the cold weather hits, BOOTS! You can’t ever have too many and if you could you would take one in each color of your favorite style. I have chosen my favorite few and would love to have them all to myself all Winter long!

This Elizabeth and James double platform boot is a fashion forward day option and can also be worn out for cocktails or an event in the evening.

Whether you’re at work or walking the streets Christmas shopping and running errands on the weekend, a girl needs to be comfy! Joe Jeans makes this “joy” boot

or this western style boot with a tiny heel.

This Jeffrey Campbell Wishlist boot is my MUST-HAVE boot right now and I cant wait to get a pair!

I also adore these two different variations of the combat boot by the designer

The retro feel of these Modern Vintage suede platforms and these Stuart Weitzman over the knee flat boot, is bohemian and classy all at once.

And there has to be an over-the-knee boot somewhere in your boot wardrobe, so get a pair of these Joe Jeans wedge boots

or this version by Stuart Weitzman
